I'm Phil Pearson, a magician and mind reader based near Brighton. I've been performing professionally since 2017 and full-time since 2024. Before that, I ran a landscaping business, so going from building fences to performing at weddings, parties and corporate events has been quite a change. But magic has always been the thing I wanted to do. My style is relaxed and down to earth. You'll usually find me in a baseball cap and trainers, having a laugh with people before doing something that stops them in their tracks. No top hats, no awkward scripts. Just strong magic, mind reading and a good time. What I love most is the reaction. That moment when someone looks at their friends because they need to check they've all just seen the same thing. Sometimes it's a room full of laughter, sometimes it's someone sitting there speechless. Those are the moments people remember. I don't expect your guests to stand around politely watching tricks. I get them involved. Things happen in their hands, their choices matter, and they become part of the entertainment. It's a great way to get people talking, especially when they don't know each other yet. Every event is different, and I work with what's happening around me. That might mean mingling during drinks, entertaining small groups between courses or bringing everyone together for a show. I know when to get the energy up and when to let a quieter moment do the work. I'm a Member of The Magic Circle, Vice Chairman of The Sussex Magic Circle and a member of Equity. I've won Stage Magician of the Year three times, in 2023, 2024 and 2026, as well as the 2026 Mentalism Competition. I've performed for American Express, Sky Sports and Brighton & Hove Albion, and have over 225 five-star reviews across review platforms. I perform at weddings, corporate events and private parties across Sussex, London and beyond. Alongside close-up magic and mind reading, I offer stage, cabaret and parlour-style shows, wedding hosting, and corporate workshops covering confidence, communication and team building. For bigger events, I can offer multiple magicians too. I take making your event a success seriously, but the entertainment should never feel serious. I want your guests laughing, getting involved and going home with a story to tell.

Travel I travel to your venue with everything needed for the performance. Additional travel costs depend on location and will be included in your quote. Close-up magic I'm completely self-contained. No seating arrangement, stage, PA system or microphone is needed. Background music can continue while I mingle with your guests. Stage performances only I bring all my stage equipment and can provide my own PA system and microphone, or use a suitable venue system by arrangement. For stage performances, the venue needs to provide: - A clear, well-lit performance area. - Audience seating with a clear view of the show. - Safe stage access, including steps if required. - Access to power if I'm supplying the PA. - A secure space to prepare and store equipment. - Background music switched off during the show so everyone can hear. We'll agree access and setup timings before the event.
